Do you see your job failing and printing something like below in the job reports:
Executable was not found in the semicolon separated list
Or it can be a little different based on the plugin (like Houdini, Maya, etc.) or the version of Deadline you are using.
Something like below for Maya Jobs:
Maya 2019_0 render executable was not found in the semicolon separated list "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2019\bin\MayaBatch.exe;/usr/autodesk/maya2019/bin/maya;/Applications/Autodesk/maya2019/Maya.app/Contents/bin/maya;/usr/autodesk/mayaIO2019/bin/maya". The path to the render executable can be configured from the Plugin Configuration in the Deadline Monitor.
It means that the machine the render was run on did not find Maya 2019 at the location listed. These paths are configured via Deadline Monitor> Tools> Configure Plugins> Select the plugin from the left pane> and on the right side use the scroll bar to navigate to the correct version and check the path to the executable. If you have installed the application at a custom path add it on the new line here.
Another possible cause for this error is that software being used is not installed on the render node at all, therefor the executable cannot be found at the given path.
One more cause could be that you have recently upgraded the Repository because you wanted to add the support of latest version of the application (e.g. Maya 2030) but it's not supported yet. You can see a list of available versions in the Deadline Monitor > Tools > Configure Plugins > [Plugin].
Resolution will be based on what was the actual cause, below are some pointers to try:
- Confirm that the software is installed on the render node.
- Navigate to Deadline Monitor > Tools > Configure Plugins > [Plugin]. Find the executable field for the version of the plugin being used. Enter the path(s) to the plugins binary/executable. This path must exists on Deadline Worker.
- If there are multiple executable fields, make sure you are using the correct one for the version you're running.
-
For new version support:
Make sure that the Repository is at the correct version -- check contents of 'Help -> About Deadline Monitor'. Also if you have a "[Repository]/custom/[Plugin]" folder in your Repository, it will take precedence to the contents of the [Repository]/plugins/[Plugin]
